The Florida Baptist Foundation Student Loan Program has been established to assist worthy and needy students in pursuit of post-secondary education. Loans are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic performance, Christian character and church participation.

Loans are awarded in amounts up to $2,500 per calendar year with a lifetime maximum of $6,000. Interest is due monthly while the student is in school. The interest will be based on the principal balance outstanding on the loan. The monthly payment will be automatically debited from a checking or savings account. Principal payments are to begin six months after the completion of or dropping out of school and are to be repaid within 48 months of the beginning of principal payments.

Qualifications for Student Loan

  • Member of a Southern Baptist church in Florida

  • Legal resident of Florida

  • Full-time student

  • May attend a college or university either within Florida or outside the state as long as it is accredited by a recognized regional accrediting agency. If applicant attends seminary, it must be a Southern Baptist seminary.

  • If applicant is receiving a tuition grant either from Stetson University or Baptist College of Florida, applicant will not be eligible for a loan through this program.
